I am an avid traveler. In 2005-2007, I traveled across the Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, and South Asia in order to better understand regions unfamiliar to me. This set the stage for my subsequent trips, both for pleasure and for research, across the Indonesian archipelago and Southeast Asia more broadly.
